The Tucker Valley Middle School Softball team hosted Gilmer County on Friday April 6th and fell in the contest by the final score of 16-6.
Gilmer County jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after 1 inning. Tucker Valley scored 2 runs in the third inning to cut the lead to 4-2 after 3 innings. The Gilmer County bats proved to be too strong as they scored 6 runs in the 4th inning to open the game up. The Lady Wildcats battled back as they scored 1 run in the 4th and 2 more in the 5th inning to cut the Gilmer lead to 10-5 after 5. Gilmer then pulled away in the last inning to take the victory by the final score of 16-6.
Tucker Valley was led at the plate by Corrinia Lipscomb with 3 hits and 1 run scored. Kristen Hicks, Tory Paul and Paige Shaffer also collected 2 hits each. The Lady Wildcats JV also played Gilmer County and Tucker Valley won the contest 13-3.
