First United Methodist Church is truly blessed to have a dedicated group of women who make prayer shawls for people who have experienced loss or illness. Recently, Rev. William Brown blessed the shawls. More than 150 prayer shawls have been given out by the group. Shown in the picture are the women who make the shawls. Jeanette Crosten, Lil White, Kay Flanagan, Marie Poling, Anita Phillips, Dorothy Carr, Glenda Lipscomb, Barbara Miller, and Luanna Bava. Sylvia Brown, Frances Harper, and Rosie Moore were unable to attend. One member, Marie Poling, was honored by the group for completing 28 prayer shawls over the winter months.
