TUCKER VALLEY SOFTBALL ENDS SEASON WITH 3 GAMES

The Tucker Valley Middle School Softball team traveled to Taylor County on Monday May 7th for 1 game. The Lady Wildcats picked up the road win by the final score of 12-2.


Kate Simmons picked up the win as she pitched a complete game with 5 strike outs. At plate it was a complete team effort for Tucker Valley as every starter reach base in the game. Tory Paul, Shaleigh Darlington, Paige Shaffer, Cheyenne Gooden and Erin Cassidy all collected 2 hits each. Tucker Valley also took the JV contest by the final score of 19-6. Every JV player scored at least 1 run in the victory.
On Tuesday May 8th Tucker Valley traveled to Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School for a double header. The Lady Wildcats fell in the first contest by the final score of 8-6. Tucker Valley surged ahead to a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning, but Buckhannon tied the game in the 3rd inning 3-3. The home standing Bucs took the lead 8-4 in the 6th. Tucker Valley scored 2 more runs, but they would not get closer as the Lady Wildcats fell in the contest by the final score of 8-6. Tucker Valley was led at the plate by Shaleigh Darlington with 2 hits in the loss.
Tucker Valley would rebound in the second game of the double header as they defeated Buckhannon-Upshur Middle by the final score of 13-6. The Lady Wildcats collected 15 hits in the contest and Corrinia Lipscomb got the win on the mound for Tucker Valley. Tucker was led again at the plate by Shaleigh Darlington with 3 hits and 2 runs scored. Tory Paul, Cheyenne Gooden, Corrinia Lipscomb and Erin Cassidy also added 2 hits each in the Tucker Valley win.
