The following citations have been recorded in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
Frederick J. Shear, Falls Church, Va. was cited for speeding (74-65) by Cpl. D.W. Burge. He pled guilty and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
Robert L. Grantz, Hambleton, was cited for no seatbelt by Sgt. C.D. Siler. He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $25.
Britni M. Ball, Parsons, was cited for shoplifting 1st by Sgt. C.D. Siler. The charge was dismissed.
Jason S. Woodford, Hendricks, was cited for speeding (69-55) by Sgt. C.D. Siler. He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
The following criminal complaints have been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:
Britni Mikkel Ball, Parsons, was charged with one felony count of Shoplifting 3rd offense. The complaint states that on Sunday, March 4 the defendant entered the Parsons Sheetz store. She allegedly picked up one 18.5 oz. bottle of Lipton Sweet Tea valued at $1.89 and a 13.7 oz. bottle of Frappuccino Vanilla valued at $2.99. She allegedly exited the store without paying for these items, and was seen by the store manager exiting the store without paying for the items. Cpl. D.W. Burge, of the West Virginia State Police was then advised by the manager of this crime, and that the defendant was the person whom committed the crime. Burge ran a NCIC and III criminal check for Ball and found that she had a prior conviction for shoplifting 1st offense on Aug. 30, 2011 in Randolph County and a prior conviction for shoplifting 2nd offense on May 22, 2012 in Tucker County. She is under a $5,000 property/surety bond that was not posted.
Britni Mikkel Ball, Parsons, has been charged with one felony count Shoplifting 3rd offense. According to the criminal complaint, on July 2 the defendant was in the Parsons Shop-n-Save and was allegedly observed by an employee putting three wax melts in her purse. She paid for her groceries but not the wax melts. When she exited the store, she was stopped by the shift manager and she allegedly recovered three wax melts and two steel pot scrubbers from the defendant. The items had a value that totaled $17.46 plus $1.05 tax. The defendant has two prior convictions of shoplifting within the past seven years. She is under a $5,000 property/surety bond that was not posted.
John Michael Harris, Dry Fork, was charged with two counts of Wanton endangerment. The complaint states that on Friday, June 29, Gregory Scott Hanna and his wife Lisa Michelle Hanna were traveling on Schoolhouse Hill Rd in a side by side UTV. The defendant and Jacqueline Marie Harris allegedly entered the roadway and were engaged in a verbal dispute with Mr. And Mrs. Hanna. Harris walked away from the roadway and then returned to the area with a .40 caliber pistol. He allegedly activated the slide and pointed the pistol at the Hanna couple putting them in fear for their safety. Harris then pointed the pistol into the sky and the couple left the area in the UTV. Harris posted a $5,000 cash bond.
William Martin Hearn, Parsons, was charged with one count Assault and one count Battery. The complaint states that on June 28 the defendant became irritated with the victim, Alexa Ann Lawson because she would not allow her daughter to go with the defendant and Ms. Lawson’s mother in the car. The defendant is the long time boyfriend of Ms. Lawson’s mother. The defendant allegedly charged through the front door while cursing and yelling at Ms. Lawson. The defendant allegedly got up in her face and grabbed her by both arms around the biceps. This caused bruising on her arm. He then allegedly shoved her backward into a closet door causing pain. This incident occurred in front of Ms. Lawson’s young daughter and while Ms. Lawson is approximately eight months pregnant. The defendant left the scene before the police arrived. Hearn posted a $600 cash bond and a Bench Trail is scheduled for Aug. 16 at 10:30 a.m. before Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
The following cases have been ordered and adjudged in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:
State of West Virginia verses Robert Lee Scofield, Martinsburg, received judgment of guilty plea for one count speeding on May 15. He was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25. This case was heard on July 3 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
West Virginia University Hospital verses Bartley: On June 28 the court granted in favor of West Virginia University Hospital against Angela M. Bartley in the amount of $2,205 plus $90 court cost. This case was heard on June 28 by Magistrate William M. Miller.
State of West Virginia verses Tammy Diane Conway, Weston, received judgment of no contest plea for one count speed limitations which occurred on Feb. 12. She was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25. This case was heard on July 2 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
State of West Virginia verses Arvita D. Maxson, Parsons, received judgment of no contest plea for one count making, issuing worthless checks which occurred on Sep. 15, 2017. She was assessed fines of $1, cost and fees of $215.25 and must make restitution of $255. This case was heard on July 2 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
