Elkins – Angie Scott has been appointed coordinator for student success at Davis & Elkins College. In this position, she leads the College’s retention efforts by providing and coordinating academic and advising services that encourage all students to become engaged in campus activities and attain academic success.
“Angie is the ideal candidate for this important position,” said Davis & Elkins College President Chris A. Wood. “She is a passionate believer in Davis & Elkins College and loves our students. Her job is to marry those two and assist our students to be productive and successful on their journey to becoming D&E graduates.”
An employee of Davis & Elkins College since 2012, Scott most recently served as admission event coordinator, and prior to that, as conference and catering manager.
“I have been blessed these past six years to work with our students in many different capacities and I am thrilled with this new opportunity,” Scott said. “I would like to thank President Wood and Dr. Rosemary Thomas for this exciting opportunity to work closely with our students, faculty and staff. A lot of institutions do not have a position such as this to guide and encourage student success. At Davis & Elkins College, distinction and excellence is what sets us apart from other institutions. We are a student-centered institute and continue to lead the way when it comes to higher education.”
Prior to working at D&E, Scott was employed by Aegis Communication Group LLC and has more than 27 years management experience. She studied at Alderson-Broaddus College and Fairmont State University, and holds certification in Focus on ME-Management Orientation, Focus on ME-Leadership Skills, and High Performance Management Techniques.
She replaces Debbie Larkin, who retired from the College earlier this year.
Scott lives in Valley Bend with her husband, Deck. The couple has two children.
