Pastor Jay Bunting, D.D. is the new shepherd on the mountaintop for the four churches of the Charge.  He and wife Heather arrived in July.  They come to our communities from Talcott, WV where he had served for three years.  Pastor Jay has been in the Ministry for 27 years and he has served several churches throughout.

He was educated at the University of Notre Dame and is also Benectine, Oplate of The Order of St. Benedict since 1994.  Currently, he serves as a pastor in the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Pastor Jay has a passion for preaching, teaching and mentoring other pastors. He is trained in PTSD intervention and served on critical incident teams in Maryland and Delaware.

His personal interests include writing, cooking and playing his autoharp.  He and his wife enjoy knitting prayer shawls and making quilts.  The quilts made while serving here will be given to the needy in the Appalachian area.

The congregations of the churches look forward to working with him in his ministry here in these beautiful mountains.

Pastor Jay and Heather are the owners of two cats.  When asked their names he replied, “Sugar, Spice.”  With a twinkle in his eye and a tiny smile he further answered, “And we are the EVERYTHING NICE.”
