100% of donations support local children

Altoona, Pa. — Sheetz For The KidzTM is proud to announce the Sheetz employee-driven charity raised more than $598,000 during its annual July campaign through customer donations. A new July record for the nonprofit, this exceeds last July’s campaign fundraising total by more than $34,000.  One hundred percent of customer donations are used to directly support Sheetz For The Kidz programs.

“We are grateful for our customers and employees who continue to drive our fundraising campaigns every July and December,” said Sarah Piper, Executive Director of Sheetz For The Kidz.  “All donations will support local children during the holidays and grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions living in our communities!”

Throughout the 2018 holiday season, Sheetz For The Kidz will support close to 9,500 children, which amounts to 16 children from each of Sheetz’s 578 stores.  Sheetz For The Kidz works with the Salvation Army to receive wish lists from local families in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. Sheetz employees then volunteer their time to shop, wrap and host holiday parties for the children and their families. At the holiday parties, Santa greets the children and presents them with new toys, clothes and basic necessities purchased specifically for them.

This also marks the 13th consecutive year of Sheetz For The Kidz partnering with Make-A-Wish to grant wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.  The charity sponsors one child per Sheetz operating district, totaling 55 children this year.

Sheetz For The  Kidz is a non-profit organization, designated as a 501(c) (3) charity, independent of the Sheetz Corporation. The organization was created in 1992 by local store employees wanting to help local children. The mission of the charity is to provide support, hope, joy and happiness to children in need within the communities in which Sheetz operates. To date, the charity has impacted more than 110,000 children living in the communities Sheetz serves!
