KEYSER – The Tucker County Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country teams opened the season at Keyser on Tuesday August 28th.
On a day that seen temperatures in the 90’ the race was difficult for both teams. The TCHS Girls’ and Boys’ teams finished 2nd as a team in the event. In the Girls’ Race, Kate Falls(24:09) took first place overall to lead Tucker County. Other finishers for the TCHS Girls’ are as follows: 6th Karlee Smith(29:06), 10th Kristin Hicks(33:29), 11th Kandace Nestor(33:54), 15th Caitlin Fladung(38:06), 16th Inza Pacella(41:22), 17th Emma Wamsley(41:53). In the Boys’ race Tucker County was led by Chris Chambers(20:52) with a 2nd place finish overall. Other finishers for the TCHS Boys’ are as follows: 5th Will White(22:08), 8th Jon Rhodes(23:34), 10th Clay Poling(24:06), 12th Ethan Pacella(26:21), 13th Taylor Long(26:36), 14th Conor Greenlief(28:25), 16th Cameron Wamsley(28:35), 17th Haden Wamsley(33:45).
PHILIPPI – The Mt. Lions Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country teams traveled to Philip-Barbour on Saturday September 1st for the Barbour County Skirmish Meet. The TCHS Boys’ team finishers were as follows: 7th Will White(20:51), 9th Holden Young(21:07), 12th Chris Chambers(21:35), 34th Ethan Pacella(23:54), 37th Clay Poling(24:28), 39th Jon Rhodes(24:37), 40th Conor Greenlief(25:16), 41st Haden Wamsley(25:24), 49th Taylor Long(25:57), 53rd Cameron Wamsley(27:00). Top finishers for the TCHS Girls’: 2nd Kate Falls(25:09), 12th Kristin Hicks(29:03), 14th Karlee Smith(29:26), 20th Kandace Nestor(32:59), 28th Zoe Nestor(35:03), 31st Inza Pacella(37:31), 32nd Emma Wamsley(37:39), 35th Caitlin Fladung(41:05).
