obit NESTOR2_0001Ellis Samuel Nestor, 94, of Chesterfield, went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2013. He was preceded in death by his first wife of more than 40 years, Dorothy Jean Nestor. He is survived by his brother, Ira Nestor of Ohio; his wife, Katherine “Kitty” Sutphin Nestor; and his four children, Christopher Ellis Nestor (Kim), John Arthur Nestor, Martha Diane Wagner (Ron) of Columbia, S.C., and Mary Beth Mason (Dave); seven precious grandchildren, Heather, Aaron, Nicholas, Alexandra, Brittney, Logan, Kortny; four-and-a-half great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ellis was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He loved to garden, work with wood, invent and build things, read his Bible, and most of all he loved and followed Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved and cherished “Kitty,” his babydoll, until the end. He loved his second family comprised of Redeemer friends at church. The family received friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bliley’s – Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. A funeral service was held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Interment followed at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Child Development Center, 1401 Old Hundred Rd., Midlothian, Va. 23114.
