Halloween Pumpkin & Rock Painting

Halloween Pumpkin & Rock Painting, October 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. paint a pumpkin and a rock for Halloween and then walk the park to get their treats. Bring the whole family and your friends ! Buckwheat Dinner

Buckwheat Dinner on Saturday, October 13 at St. John’s United Methodist Church from 4 to 7 p.m. All you can eat for an $8 donation to the St. John’s United Methodist Men. Also includes sausage, gravy and biscuits.

Historic Landmark Commission meeting

Tucker County Historic Landmark Commission will meet Monday, October 15 at 5 p.m. at the Tucker County Historical Society Museum. The Public is invited to attend this meeting.

Happenings at CVWR

Friday, October 19, 10 a.m., Storytime. Bring the young ones and join volunteers as they talk about a new nature-oriented topic. Volunteers will read one or more stories to children to help them understand all the fascinating things about some feature of our natural world. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center.
Saturday, October 20, 10 a.m. What’s Blooming, Flower Walk. Come out to the refuge to see what plants are currently blooming in the area. Master Naturalist Jess Tucker will be your leader in finding out what is out there. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center.

Craft Show

Craft Show, Friday, October 19 at Five Rivers Public Library in Parsons, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Bake Sale – 50/50 , Fall and Christmas Décor – Crochet items – Handcrafted Jewelry – Hand Painted Signs – Soaps and Salves. Sponsored by Five Rivers Public Library

Starving Artist Fundraiser

STARVING ARTIST FUNDRAISER FOR CELEBRATE RECOVERY, Saturday, October 13 at noon in the Parsons Church of God fellowship hall. Lunch will be provided. $45.00 per person. Ann Cosner will be doing a painting class for children, $20 per child.

Democratic Rally in Parsons

There will be a rally for Democratic candidates on Sunday, October 14, from 2 – 4 p.m. at Parsons Fire Hall. Diane Hinkle, Cory Chase, Kendra Fershee, Ed Larry, Stephanie Zucker. Anne Jones will speak for Joe Manchin. Music by Heather Hannah of Thomas before and after the speakers. All encouraged to attend.
