TUCKER COUNTY CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT STATE MEET

ONA, WV – The Tucker County Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country teams traveled to Cabell Midland High School for the State Championship Meet on Saturday October 27th.

The “AA” and “A” Girls’ took to the wet course first with 138 total runners. The Lady Mt. Lions team finish in 16th place as a team. Tucker County Girls’ finished as follows: 33rd – Kate Falls(21:41.63), 87th – Karlee Smith(23:57.02), 107th – Kristen Hicks(25:14.87), 119th – Zoe Nestor(26:47.21), 126th – Inza Pacella(27:48.08), 127th Caitlin Fladung(27:48.97) and 128th – Kandace Nestor(28:42.46).

The “AA” and “A” Boys’ event featured 161 athletes. Tucker County finished the race with a 15th place finish as a team. Tucker County Boys’ runners completed the course as follows: 85th – Holden Young(19:07.90), 93rd – Will White(19:16.97), 99th – Joseph Lewandowski(19:28.76), 100th – Chris Chambers(19:29.14), 121st – Cameron Wamsley(20:18.59), 126th John Anderson(20:23.76) and 148th – Jon Rhodes(21:54.20).

The Tucker County Cross Country teams finished the season on a high note as both teams made the State Meet. For the Boys’ team it was the first time they qualified for the State Meet since 2007. The Girls’ team qualified for the State Meet for the first time in school history. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
