V. Pauline Harsh Phillips

V. Pauline Harsh Phillips, 84, of Parsons, passed from this life Tuesday, December 18,2018 at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.


Vera was born Saturday, June 23, 1934, in Parsons, a daughter of the late Eve Harsh Jones. During January of 1955, she married Denver James Phillips who preceded her in death on September 18, 2011.

Also left to cherish Pauline’s memory are three daughters, Margaret Daughtery and husband, Thomas of Mt. Airy, MD, Susan Belinko and husband, Robert of Littlestown, PA and Sarah Humphrey and husband, Chad of Malone, NY, five grandchildren, Anthony and Christine Belinko and Andrew, Courtney, and Garrett Humphrey, three brothers, Clifford “ Wayne” Jones of Hambleton, Keith Jones and wife, Susie of St. George, James Jones and wife, June, one sister, Lorraine Raines and husband Jerry of Onego, WV, and several nieces and nephews .

Preceding Pauline in death besides her husband and mother was five brothers, Billy, Clifton “Earl”, Donnie, Dutch, and Cecil Jones.

Pauline graduated Parsons High School with the Class of 1952. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Lamberts Chevrolet and was a homemaker. She enjoyed babysitting and taking care of other children, especially Braxton and Lylia as she watched them grow.

Pauline’s request for cremation will be honored. A graveside memorial service will be held at Bethel Cemetery on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for V. Pauline Harsh Phillips.
