Saturday Winter Strolls

Canaan Valley Master Naturalists will host a winter stroll through the park. Depending on conditions, a winter theme related to nature will be highlighted or just take in the beauty around us. Themes may include trees, plants, weather, history, animal tracks and signs, or plants and animals and their ways of adapting to the wintry conditions. Dress for the weather including waterproof boots/shoes”. (No charge). Meet in the lobby of the main lodge at Canaan Valley Resort State Park at 2 p.m. on Saturday’s thru April 27.

Alumni Association meeting

The Parsons High Alumni Association will meet Thursday, January 10 at 5 p.m at Little Andi’s Restaurant. Making plans for the upcoming Alumni Banquet.

Historic Landmark Commission Meeting

Tucker County Historic Landmark Commission Meeting on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019. It will be held at the Conttrill Opera House in Thomas, WV at 4 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Blood Drive

Parsons Kiwanis Club Blood Drive will be at the Parsons Senior Center from 1 – 6:30p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17. Call 1-800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org and enter parsonskiwanis to schedule an appointment.

Buckwheat Dinner

Buckwheat Dinner at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 107 River Ave., Parsons, on Saturday, January 12 from 4 – 7 p.m. Sponsored by the United Methodist Men. Includes sausage, gravy, biscuits, buckwheat cakes and pancakes. $8 donation gets all you can eat.

Mountaintop Public Library Board of Trustees meeting

The next meeting of the Mountaintop Public Library Board of Trustees will be held at the library on Thursday, January 17 at 5:30 p.m. weather permitting. The meetings are open to the public.
