TRAVEL NEWS
We are considering a trip to Pittsburgh for a Pirates baseball game. We would like your input about doing a day game and only going to the game or doing a night game with an overnight stay. The following day we would like to visit the Heinz History Center. This museum explores the history of western Pennsylvania and also includes the Western PA Sports Museum. After our guided tour, there will be free time to explore the Strip District and shop at the many shops and enjoy a meal before returning to WV. This trip will probably be either July 25th or July 24th & 25th. Please call 304-478-2423 by February 1st and let us know your feelings. This will allow us to discuss this at our travel meeting and proceed with arranging the trip.
We would also like to try a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC June 3rd to 7th. If you are interested in this trip please call us and get your name on the list so we know whether to proceed with the plans or not. Again, if you let us know by February 1st this will be a big help.
At our recent travel meeting we decided to do 2 one-day trips. These will be an Easter shopping trip to Meadowbrook Mall on April 5th and a tour of the Cumberland, MD area including stops at the High Country Creamery, Penn Alps/ Spruce Forest Artisan Village, the Gordon-Roberts House, the Aviary at Rocky Gap State Park, and a stop at Puccini’s Restaurant. This trip would probably be August 12th. We will have some more information soon.
SENIOR OLYMPICS
It’s not too early to begin thinking about the Senior Olympics. They will be held in Keyser, WV on June 11th through 14th. There is something everyone can do. Crafts include: baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting, photography, wood crafts flower arranging etc. There is a spelling bee, a talent show, scrabble, bingo, bowling, ladderball, ping pong, cards, golf putting and many more activities. Please consider joining Team Tucker and help us “bring home the gold!”
PARSONS OUTPOST
The Parsons Center will be having their monthly Outpost on Tuesday, February 5th at 10:30 a.m. The entertainment for the day will be Dennis Filler playing his horn instruments. Please bring your favorite covered dish and join us for an enjoyable morning and a delicious lunch.
