The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officials confirm a fatal kayaking incident occurred Sunday, February 24, 2019.
The accident occurred at approximately 1:48 p.m. Sunday, on Red Creek, in
Tucker County, near Dryfork, WV. Preliminary information indicates Nancy Kell, 56, of Hagerstown, MD, died after her kayak struck a partially submerged tree and overturned. Ms. Kell was recovered downstream. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Police are in charge of the investigation.
