Steven “Steve” Leon Molone, 52, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown and under the care of West Virginia Caring. He had been in declining health.
Steve was born on Saturday, February 11, 1967, in Dalhart, TX, a son of the late Morris Molone and Paula Preston Josefy. On September 1, 1990, in Grandfield, OK, he was married to the former Theresa Marie White who survives. They had celebrated twenty-eight years of marriage.
Also left to cherish Steve’s memory are three sons, Aaron Molone and wife, Amanda, of Fort Hood, TX and Allen Molone and Tyler Molone, both of Parsons, one grandson, Cooper Molone of Fort Hood, TX, one brother, Richard Molone, one sister, Shana Briones and husband, Ric, nieces, Amelia and Aurora, and his stepfather, Lewis Josefy, all of Grandfield, OK, a father-in-law, Ronald “Ronnie” White, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Steve in death besides his parents was his mother-in-law, Mary “Jeanie” Dorn White.
Steve graduated from Holliday High School in Holliday, TX with the class of 1985 and studied criminal justice at Vernon College in Wichita Falls, TX. He served his country with the United States Marine Corps for eight years. He had worked as a correctional officer in Texas at the Allred Unit in Iowa Park for several years before moving to West Virginia where he served as correctional officer for Tygart Valley Regional Jail. Steve enjoyed fishing and playing golf.
Steve’s request for cremation was honored. A celebration of Steve’s life was held on Friday, March 15, 2019, from 1 until 3 p.m. At 3 p.m., Rev Pat Cassidy officiated a memorial service and the service was concluded with members of the Tucker County Veterans Association, H.W. Daniels Post #29, American Legion, Tygarts Valley Post #3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and WV Honor Guard conducting full military honors.
