TUCKER COUNTY BASKETBALL PLAYERS EARN ALL-STATE RECOGNITION

The WV Sports Writers Association announced the 2019 Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball Class “A” All-State Selections. Tucker County landed three girls on the selection list and two Mt. Lions Boys’ Basketball players were recognized also.


Junior, Terra Kuhn was named the Second Team Captain as she led the Lady Mt. Lions in scoring this season with 15 points per game and she also averaged over 10 rebounds per game. Kuhn missed the first 6 games of the season with a lower leg injury. Senior, Riley Evans collected Honorable Mention recognition also for Tucker County as she averaged 12.6 points per game for the Lady Mt. Lions. Lastly, Senior McKinley Murphy was recognized as an Honorable Mention selection. Murphy averaged 10 points per game and dished out more than 4 assists per game for the Tucker County Girls’ Basketball team this season.

The Tucker County Boys’ Basketball team landed two players on the Class “A” All-State list. Senior, Corrick Ambrose was named as a Third Team Selection. Ambrose averaged 17 points per game and averaged 6 assists per game for the Mt. Lions this season. Senior, Jeffrey Snyder was selected to the Honorable Mention list as he averaged over 15 points per game for Tucker County this season.
