Happenings at CVNWR
Friday, April 19, 10 am, Storytime: Bring the young ones and join volunteers as they talk about a new nature-oriented topic. Volunteers will read one or more stories to children to help them understand all the fascinating things about some feature of our natural world. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center.
Saturday, April 20, 7:30 am – High Elevation Bird Walk: Join Herb Myers here at the refuge visitor center at 7:30 a.m. to see what birds are returning to the higher elevations. Spring songs should be starting to make music in the forest. We will go up Forest Road 80 and bird along Wilderness Way Trail.
Movie Night Monday
Five Rivers Public Library Movie Night Monday will be April 22, at 6 p.m., showing “Gifted”, run time 101 minutes, rated PG-13. Library Meeting Room. Snacks and Drinks provided.
Good Friday and Sunrise Services
St. John’s United Methodist Church will have Good Friday services at 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday Sunrise Services at 6:30 a.m.
Taste of Tucker Farmers Market
The Taste of Tucker Farmers Market will be holding a organizational meeting and senior voucher training on May 30, at the Parsons Senior Center at 5:30 p.m. If you are interested in being a part of the market this year we encourage you to attend. Volunteers Needed for Veteran Transportation Network
The West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance is looking for individuals to volunteer one day a month to transport veterans to medical appointments for the Veteran Transportation Network. This program is designed to ensure that veterans without transportation have access to the health care that they need. It is free to the veterans. Anyone wishing to volunteer to become a proud driver of Veterans should contact the Voluntary Service Office at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center at 304-623-7621.
