TUCKER VALLEY MIDDLE SOFTBALL UPDATE

WEST UNION – The Lady Wildcats Softball team traveled to Doddridge County on Thursday April 25th for a doubleheader. Tucker Valley took the first game 9-0 and the second game of the night was also won by Tucker Valley 14-2.

Paige Shaffer picked up the win for the Lady Wildcats in Game 1 as she collected 9 strikeouts in 6 innings. Tucker Valley jumped out to an early 6 run lead in the 1st inning. Kate Simmons and Ava Shaffer would drive in 2 runs each during that 1st inning run. Tucker Valley would then put the game out of reach in the 6th inning as Corrinia Lipscomb and Paige Shaffer each singled. Shaleigh Darlington then connected on a triple to bring in the base runners to make the final score 9-0 Tucker Valley.

In Game 2 the Lady Wildcats once again got out to a quick lead as they scored 7 runs in the 1st inning. Hits by Corrinia Lipscomb, Shaleigh Darlington, Jacey Davis and Brianna Gooden helped score the 7 runs in the 1st. Tucker Valley then plated 6 more runs in the 3rd inning after doubles by Rachel Felton, Kate Simmons and Jacey Davis built the lead and led to the 14-2 victory for Tucker Valley.

Lipscomb picked up the win on the mound for Tucker Valley in Game 2 as she had 5 strikeouts in 3 innings of work.
