TUCKER COUNTY BASEBALL FALL TO EAST HARDY, WIN AT UNION

PARSONS – The Tucker County Baseball team hosted East Hardy on Monday April 22nd. The Mt. Lions seen a rally by East Hardy late to secure the close victory for the Cougars 8-2.


Cameron Wamsley got the start for Tucker County on the mound. Wamsley lasted 3 innings and allowed just 1 hit while striking out 3 batters. Corrick Ambrose and Zach Colebank entered the game from the bullpen to help at the pitching position. East Hardy opened the game with a solo homerun in the 1st inning. East Hardy score 1 run in the top of the third. The Mt. Lions answered with 1 run of their own after an Alec Cummings single to drive in a run. Tucker County then tied up the game 2-2 in the 4th inning with a Myles Paugh single. The Cougars then scored 5 runs in the 6th inning to put the game out of reach for Tucker County. Shane Humphrey, Tyler Molone also added hits for Tucker County in the loss.

MT. STORM – The Mt. Lions traveled to Union on Wednesday April 24th for a 1 game contest. Tucker County got the bats going and cruised to a 24-4 win on the road.

The Mt. Lions started the scoring early as Zach Colebank blasted a 2-run homerun to make the score 2-0. Tucker County then exploded for 10 runs in the 2nd inning and the Mt. Lions cruised from then to get the victory by the final score of 24-4.

Tucker County’s Corrick Ambrose picked up the win on the mound. Derek Delaney and Blake Anderson entered the game in relief action on the mound. The Mt. Lions connected with 21 hits in the contest. Zach Colebank, Derek Delaney, Shane Humphrey, Cameron Wamsley, Alec Cummings, Gariet Pennington, Myles Paugh had multiple hits for Tucker County. Colebank and Delaney had 3 hits each for the Mt. Lions in the road victory.

Tucker County(5-10) will return to action tonight Wednesday May 1st at home against Trinity at 5pm. The Mt. Lions will then host South Harrison on Thursday May 2nd at 5:30pm and then Tucker County will host a doubleheader with 2 different opponents in Tygarts Valley and Union on Friday May 3rd. The doubleheader on Friday will get underway at 4pm with the first contest. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
