TUCKER VALLEY SOFTBALL ENDS SEASON WITH 15-3 RECORD

Tucker Valley 8th grade Softball players were recognized on May 6th Paige Shaffer(front), back row(L-R): Corrinia Lipscomb, Katelyn Simmons, Jacey Davis, Autumn Russell and Shaleigh Darlington.

CAMP KIDD – The Lady Wildcats Softball team hosted Buckhannon-Upshur Middle on Monday May 6th for 1 game. Tucker Valley picked up the home win by the final score of 14-3.


The Lady Wildcats got the bats going early as they exploded for 11 runs in the 1st inning alone. Paige Shaffer got the win for Tucker Valley on the mound as she struck out 3 batters over 2 innings. Rachel Felton singled and score 3 runs in the game. Corrinia Lipscomb and Jacey Davis picked up 2 hits each in the Lady Wildcats win.

The 8th grade players were also recognized after the game. The following players were honored: Jacey Davis, Corrinia Lipscomb, Paige Shaffer, Autumn Russell, Shaleigh Darlington and Kate Simmons.

WESTON – Tucker Valley traveled to Robert L Bland Middle on Tuesday May 7th. The Lady Wildcats stayed close, but Robert Bland pulled away for a 11-3 win.

Paige Shaffer got the start a pitcher for Tucker Valley and Shaffer suffered the loss in the contest. Robert Bland led the game 6-3 into the 6th inning when the homestanding Lady Patriots plated 5 runs in the inning to open the game up for Robert Bland. Tucker Valley was led by Rachel Felton with 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Paige Shaffer also collected 2 hits and score 1 run in the contest for the Lady Wildcats. Shaleigh Darlington also chipped in with 2 hits for Tucker Valley in the loss for Tucker Valley.

ELKINS – The Lady Wildcats capped off the season with a road game at Elkins on Thursday May 9th. Tucker Valley scored early and often in route to a 19-1 victory.

The Lady Wildcats opened the game up in the 4th inning as they plated 12 runs to put the game out of reach for the Lady Hornets. Corrinia Lipscomb got the win on the mound for Tucker Valley as she went 3 innings while striking out 6 batters. Lipscomb, Paige Shaffer, Shaleigh Darlington and Autumn Russell scored 3 runs each in the Lady Wildcats road victory. Tucker Valley finished the season with a 15-3 record.
