Bible Study for Adults

Bible Study will be at St. John’s Lutheran from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 through Wednesday June 26. It will be based on Bill Hybel’s book, Just Walk Across the Room: Simple Steps Pointing People to Faith. It will be led by Pastor Mark Messner from central Pennsylvania. The program is free and open to all. And the first session will end with an ice cream social. Everyone welcome.

Rowlesburg Breakfast Buffet

Rowlesburg Breakfast Buffet will be Sunday, June 23, at ROWLESBURG VFW from 8 a.m. – NOON
Sausage, Bacon, Sausage Gravy & Biscuits, Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Drinks, Pancakes, Blueberry Pancakes, Buckwheat Cakes and Corn Cakes.
All Home Cooked, $10 Adults, $6 12 and under. Sponsored by VFW Post 3008 and Auxiliary

Mountain Hospice Camp Good Grief

Mountain Hospice Camp Good Grief will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 20 at Mill Race Park. Free Day Camp for Any Child that has experienced any grief or loss.

Parsons High School Alumni Association Meeting

The Parsons High School Alumni Association will meet Wednesday, June 12, at Tucker County Senior Center at 5 p.m. Discussions of the previous banquet and weekend will be held to see what needs to be changed for the 2020 festivities. This will be the last meeting of the summer until October of 2019.

Sight and Sound Theater

St. John’s United Methodist Church is planning a trip to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster Pa. to see the production of Jesus on August 1 and 2. This is an overnight trip, traveling by charter bus. Cost is $180 per adult per double room. Price includes ticket, bus ride, and motel room. You would be responsible for your meals. (Children under 12 would be $93 staying with their parents). Contact Alisa Poling 304-704-2017, Angie Swisher 304-642-7735, or Willetta Bolinger 304-478-2565 if interested. Forms can be picked up at Mountain State Honey Co. during the week or at St. John’s Church on Sunday. We need to know ASAP who is going. Forms and payment need to turned in by June 23.

Special Services

Good Tidings Assembly of God on Location Rd. will have special services at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14 with Brother Bob Fletcher.

Red Cross Blood Drive

There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive from 1:30 – 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 13 at the Parsons Senior Center. To schedule an appointment call 1-800-Red Cross (1-800-733-2627) or go to RedCrossBlood.org. Walk-ins are welcome. Sponsored by the Parsons Kiwanis Club.

Mill Race Park Summer Events Free Friday Night Concert Series

Starting June 14 thru Aug 9,the City of Parsons and the Parsons Parks and Recreation Commission will have the annual Free Friday Night 2019 Summer Concert Series.
Talent includes Kaleb Straley from Quite Dell, Allies, Michael Bonnett and the Rivers Edge, Local Gospel talents, the Sonbeams, Mont and Barb Miller, Alison DeLeurere, Holly Ash, Amy Canfield and Mike Moran, Bluegrass sensations Phrawg Giggers and From THE VOICE, Cody Wickline. There will also be aTalent and Karaoke Night and the Annual Kids Day.
All events will be at Mill Race Park, on Friday nights at 6 p.m.
