Hobert Ray Wolford, Sr.

Hobert Ray Wolford, Sr., 80, passed June 6, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born August 17, 1938 in Dryfork, WV. He was a son of the late Eston Hobert and Zerna Myrtle Day Wolford.


He is survived by his lifelong companion, Carol J. Wolford, five children, Hobert Ray Wolford, Jr., Hambleton, WV, Ronald Lee Wolford, Petersburg, WV, Donna Jean Wolford (Josh Blake), of West Elizabeth, PA, Linda Marie Studer (George Studer), Beverly, WV, Beverly Ann Wolford (Rick Michaels), Elkins, WV, one sister, Anna Pennington, Green Castle, PA, twelve grandchildren, Laine, Noelle, and Austin Mee, Shaelan, Andrew, and Kynlee Studer, Savannah, James, and Cyler Wolford, Ashton and Ryan Michaels, and Rayleigh Blake, two great-grandchildren, Lily and Amelia Studer, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harding Wolford, two sisters, Betty Wolford and Genevieve Cross, one grandson, Christopher Ray Vance, and one stepson, James Rhodes.

He was a carpenter by trade. He loved building and drawing. He enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles and tracking the weather.

Friends will be received at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 12, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with funeral services being conducted at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Flanagan Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family. Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences can be made to the family at www.hinklefennerfuneralhome.com
