PARSONS, WV – Applications for the 2019 Tucker County Cultural District Authority (TCCDA) grant cycle are now available. Non-profit groups, community organizations, local governments and groups that help foster local culture and are located in Tucker County are eligible to apply.

Applications can be found online at TCCDA’s Facebook page or in the Tucker County Convention and Visitor Bureau (CVB) office in Davis. Interested parties should mail both an original and a copy of their application to 211 First Street, Suite 307, Parsons WV, 26287. Applications must be postmarked on or before August 21st, 2019, or will be accepted at the Tucker County Commission office and the CVB office before 3:00 pm that day.

Last year, TCCDA grants went towards five projects, ranging from heritage exhibits at the annual Leaf Peepers Festival to a memorial garden for veterans in Thomas.

The West Virginia State Senate authorized the creation of a Tucker County Cultural District Authority in 2013 with the goal of, “preserving and advancing Tucker County’s culture.” It is currently the only countywide Cultural District Authority east of the Mississippi River. The organization works to promote the county’s art, music, history, recreation and planning opportunities for longtime locals and visitors alike.
