Mary C. White, 83, of Furnace Acres, died Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Allegany Health, Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born June 13, 1936 in St. George, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. Kepner and Novella (Henson) Kepner Plum. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Elmer G. Plum.
Mary was a graduate of Parsons High School, where she continued to belong to their Alumni Association.
She retired at Hill’s Department Store, having worked in the domestics department.
Mary belonged to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church; Alkire Chapter #10, O.E.S.; Old Furnace CEO’s; Women of the Moose, Chapter #914; and, Woodmen of the World, Camp#6081.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 67 years, Levi O. “Shorty” White; daughter, Susan Michael and husband Sonny, Cumberland; two sons, Gerry White and wife Kathy, Mannington, WV, and Barry White and fiancé Laura, Shenandoah Junction, WV; a brother, Eugene L. Kepner and wife Mary, Columbia, SC; several grandchildren, great, grandchildren, and a great, great granddaughter; and, a special friend, “Sister Sheila” Anderson, Furnace Acres.
As per her wishes, Mary will be cremated and interment will be in Parsons Cemetery at a later date.
