MORGANTOWN – The Tucker County Girls’ Volleyball team started their season at Trinity Christian on Thursday September 12th. The event was a Tri-Match which gave the Lady Mt. Lions matches against the host Lady Warriors and Hundred High School.
In Volleyball the team that wins 2 out of 3 sets wins the match and the first team to 25 wins the set. Tucker County faced off against Trinity in their first match. Trinity won the first set 25-10. The Lady Warriors won the second set as well by the count of 25-15 to give Trinity the match win over Tucker County.
In the second and final match of the night for Tucker County they faced Hundred. Tucker County fell in the first set 25-14. In the second set the Lady Mt. Lions also fell 25-14. This gave Hundred the match win. Head Coach Judy Pitzer had this to say after the matches, “We normally score well off our serves and that was not the cast this evening, but for our very first official Tri-Match the girls’ played well.”
Tucker County will return to action on tonight September 18th at South Harrison at 6pm. The Lady Mt. Lions will then host a Tr-Match with Moorefield and Union on Thursday September 19th with action starting at 6pm.
