The following citation has been recorded in the Tucker County Magistrate office:

  • Eric S. Watson, St. Albans, was cited for no insurance by Cpl. D.W. Burge. The charge was dismissed with proof shown.

The following criminal complaints have been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

  • Kristen Carlea Nine, Elkins, was charged with two counts of Petit Larceny. According to the compliant, on Sunday, Oct. 27 the accused, Kristen Carlea Nine, allegedly stole a 32 inch Emerson television and $474 from Holly Meadows Golf Course where she was employed. On Saturday, Nov. 2 Cpl. J.R. Wince, of the West Virginia State Police, received a complaint from Thomas Gutshall advising he had Monday, Oct. 28 to find the TV from the clubhouse was missing as well as the money from the petty cash safe. He advised Wince that he suspected Nine because she was the last one at work on Sunday, Oct. 27. He stated she has worked at the golf course for two seasons. Wince located Nine at her grandmother’s house on Blackman Flats Rd. In a non-custodial interview, she allegedly admitted to Wince that she stole the television and the money from Holly Meadows golf course. She advised him where the television was located in Randolph County and the same was recovered by Troopers working out of the Elkins Detachment. The approximate value of the stolen television is $200 and the cash was $474. She posted a $2,500 PR bond and a court hearing is scheduled for Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. before Magistrate William M. Miller.
  • Brandon Lee Bryant, Eglon, was charged with one count disorderly Conduct. The complaint states that on Thursday, Nov. 7 at approximately 6:10 p.m. Trooper C.R. Donelson of the West Virginia State Police (WVSP) and Deputy D.A. Sliwinski of the Tucker County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 238 Center St. in Hambleton for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival the officers determined through investigation that it was a civil issue and was advising the parties involved when the defendant became angry over the issue and started cussing and using profane language. Donelson instructed him to calm down whereas he refused and continued using profane language. Donelson then placed the defendant under arrest and transported him to the WVSP/Parsons Detachment for processing. He posted a $1,000 PR bond.
  • Martin Chauncey, III, Romney, was charged with one count Driving Suspended 3rd or Subsequent Offense; one count Expired MVI; one count No Insurance and No Seatbelt. According to the complaint on Thursday, Nov. 8 at approximately 1:45 p.m. Cpl. J.R. Wince of the West Virginia State Police, was conducting routine road patrol on US219. He observed a light colored Ford SUV with an expired inspection sticker, Expired Sept 2019. He observed the vehicle was being driven by a male who was not wearing a seatbelt. He initiated a traffic stop and observed the driver was a female and identified her as JoAnne Chauncey. Upon questioning, she allegedly admitted to Wince that she had switched drivers with the accused, identified as Martin Chauncey, III who was sitting in the back passenger side of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, Wince determined that Chauncey’s WV Operators License was revoked for multiple unpaid citations, mandatory insurance and two prior offenses of driving suspended. The first offense was May 10, 2017 and the second offense was Aug 22, 2017. The accused was also unable to provide Wince with a valid proof of insurance for the vehicle. He posted a $825 PR bond and a court hearing is scheduled for Dec. 12 at 10:45 a.m. before Magistrate William M. Miller.

The following cases have been ordered and adjudged in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

  • State of West Virginia verses Kierra S. Curry, Fredericksburg, Va. received judgment of Dismissed Deferred Sentence for one count Possession of Marijuana <15 grams. She was assessed cost and fees of $165.25; unsupervised probation for six months and credit for time served on six months. This case was heard on Nov. 13 by Magistrate William m. Miller.
  • State of West Virginia verses Brian Mitchell Shifflett, Hendricks, received judgment of No probable cause found for one count Unlawful injury to or destruction of property with a violation date of Aug. 31. This case was heard on Nov. 8 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
