As we get older it gives us time to reflect on our lives. If I would have known then what I know now, things would be a lot different. But life is what it is you just live to learn from your mistakes. Momma Said, “With age comes wisdom.”
You are not evolving if you keep making the same mistakes. You have to branch out and try new things if you want to learn anything. Learn a new language or try out a new workout session. Read a book or go to a museum to see things that are not on your everyday list of things to see. If one is available go to a zoo or aquarium and learn about animals from other regions.
If we had a zoo close by I would probably be there everyday. That would be my new dream job. I don’t mind cleaning up after animals, although cleaning up after an elephant is a little different that cleaning up after my dogs. Momma Said, “Be careful what you wish for it just might come true.”
I guess I am luckier than some, I have my home paid for, my truck is paid off and I have a job to go to every day. One thing I would like to do is go on a train trip across the U.S. Go to Alaska and see the Northern lights and a polar bear. If I could stop and see some sights along the way, the Redwoods, the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore that would be great. I would miss my animals but if they were safe and cared for I could tolerate it.
Chocolate Peppermint Bark
Ingredients
12 ounces white chocolate
12 ounces dark chocolate
½ cup crushed candy canes
Directions
Line a 9×12 pan with parchment paper. Place dark chocolate in a glass bowl and melt in microwave (cook for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until smooth).
Pour the melted dark chocolate on the parchment paper and use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly in the pan.
Place the candy canes in a heavy duty zip lock bag. Using a hammer, crush the candy, set aside.
Melt the white chocolate following the same steps as above. After the white chocolate is smooth, pour it on top of the dark chocolate and spread evenly.
Sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top of white chocolate while it is still melted. Place in refrigerator for two hours then break into pieces.
