Turner’s Tidbits

This week’s photo is of Edna Alberta Shaffer Evans. Edna (1884-1949) was married to Daniel Luther Evans and they had 12 children. She was the daughter of George and Mary Dumire  Shaffer.  Last week’s photo was of William and Elizabeth Canon Knotts and their daughter Blanche.  William was first married to Clara Bell Fansler and they had 2 children; this marriage ended and he married Elizabeth Canon. William and Elizabeth had 14 children. William was 60 years old when Blanche was born.  Additional information to the November 20th edition article. The building that stood by Greenlief Funeral Home was owned by Bob and Grace Minear in the 1950’s. The building was the home of their business: Minear’s  Hardware. Their daughter also remembers part of the building being rented to the WV State Police. She remembers going there to get her driver’s license.
