CLARKSBURG – The Mt. Lions traveled to Notre Dame on Friday December 27th. Tucker County got behind early and they could not mount a comeback as the Mt. Lions fell in the contest 71-42.
Notre Dame started the game with their offense firing on all cylinders as they led the Mt. Lions 22-5 after one quarter of play. In the second quarter the Tucker County offense continued to struggle as the Irish outscored the Mt. Lions in the second 22-5 to make the halftime score 44-10 Notre Dame.
The third quarter would belong to the homestanding Irish as they edged Tucker County 16-10 in the third to push the Notre Dame lead to 60-20 after three quarters. Tucker County would win the fourth quarter 22-11, but Notre Dame picked up the victory by the final score of 71-42.
Wyatt Betler led Tucker County in scoring with 9 points and 6 rebounds. The Mt. Lions JV team fell in the first game 71-56.
