Thomas, WV – Cortland announces the completion of four additional townhomes in The Pines retirement community. Each home is designed with thoughtful features enhancing comfort, convenience and efficiency. The nine-hundred square foot homes contain a full kitchen, two bedrooms, one and a half baths, as well as laundry appliances. An outside storage room is large enough to hold your lawn chairs, grill and more

The floorplan for the new townhomes at The Pines include thoughtful features enhancing comfort, convenience and efficiency.

Fully paved parking, smooth sidewalks and wide doorways make access safe and convenient. The only thing missing are stairs! The brick facade helps with efficiency and durability. Natural gas furnaces are quiet and keep you warm during Tucker County winters. For those rare but occasional warmer days, central air conditioning will keep you cool and comfortable.

“These newly finished homes are a real complement to our existing homes,” explains Cortland Director of Development Dan Bucher. “They offer a stress-free retirement living option in a peaceful mountainous setting. We’ve left nothing to chance and have incorporated the latest home improvements. We have a staff that handles all outside maintenance including snow removal and lawn care as well as interior maintenance for heating, A/C, appliances etc.”

At The Pines, live life as you like. If you enjoy the company of others there are group events including exercise sessions, trips to area restaurants, various holiday celebrations and lovely shops in nearby Thomas and Davis. If you prefer a more solitary life, you may enjoy the gardening opportunities and walking trails throughout the campus.
You can reserve a home in The Pines one of two ways – – through an equity agreement or as a renter. The most common way to enjoy The Pines is through an equity agreement that allows you to preserve some assets and enjoy the comfort, convenience and independence of having your own home. For someone wishing to experience The Pines for a limited period, renting may be a more attractive option to consider.

“However you choose to finance your new home, we encourage you to take a tour and see if living at The Pines fits your lifestyle,” explains Bucher. “Expanding the options in retirement living is a major initiative in our Vision 2030. As Cortland grows so do the amenities and services available right here on campus. This is a great time for Cortland, and a great time for the Tucker County community.”
