Jackie “Jack” Snyder

Jackie “Jack” Snyder, 85, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born July 6, 1934 in Lead Mine, West Virginia.

Jack served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 30 years. After his retirement he worked for the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, Saint Francis Medical Center and Southeast Missouri State University. He was a member of the Cape Girardeau Eagles and was an avid golfer. He coached little league baseball in Jackson for many years and was an influence to many. Jack will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Loving survivors include four children, Leslie Snyder of St. Augustine, Florida, Jackie Sikes of Tallahassee, Florida, Jhan Snyder of Tallahassee, Florida and Richard (Ava) Snyder of Springfield Missouri; six grandchildren, Katie Whitener, Ryan Snider, Kyra Snyder, Russ Skinner, Anna Sikes and Rhiana Snyder.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Freda Bright.

A visitation to celebrate Jacks life was Monday, Feb. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ford and Sons, Mt. Auburn Chapel.

Private burial will take place in West Virginia at a later date.
