The Tucker Community Foundation has extended the deadline for high school, vocational and college students to apply for scholarships. The new deadline is Wednesday, April 15.
More than 40 scholarships are available from the Tucker Community Foundation. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $10,000 with most in the $1,000 range.
Students can visit www.tuckerfoundation.net/endowed-funds/scholarships/ to download an application and view the list of available scholarships.
Scholarship applications can be completed online and emailed to scholarships@tuckerfoundation.net; or printed and mailed to PO Box 491, Parsons, WV 26287. Electronic signatures are accepted.
Interim Executive Director Kelly Stadelman encourages all high school, vocational and college students to apply by the new deadline even if they are having trouble getting transcripts.
“With school systems and universities closed throughout the state and nation, the Tucker Community Foundation realizes that students may have trouble getting an official transcript,” Stadelman said. “Students should complete the scholarship application and email or mail it by April 15. The staff will work with the school systems and universities to get the official transcripts.”
High school seniors, college students, students attending technical schools and other non-traditional students (e.g., adults returning to school) are encouraged to apply for a Tucker Community Foundation scholarship regardless of their field of study.
The Tucker Community Foundation manages more than 130 endowed funds providing annual scholarships and grants to nonprofits and charitable causes throughout its service area.
