Anthony (Tony) James

Anthony (Tony) James of The Villages, Fla. passed away on April 28, 2020 at The Brandley House in Summerfield, Fla. He was born in Albert, WV on Aug. 20, 1947. He grew up in Thomas and graduated from Mountaineer High School in 1965. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Bluefield State College in Industrial Technology in 1983.

In 1966 he entered the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1970.

Prior to retirement, Tony worked for Tropicana Products in Bradenton, Fla. for 22 Years.
Tony was married to Loretta (DePollo) James for 48 years.

His greatest joy was being with his grandchildren. He was known for his jokes and playfulness with them but he was truly a family man with his wife, children and grandchildren and they, in turn, loved him endlessly. He also enjoyed a good game of golf!

He is survived by his wife, Loretta, son Randy and wife Kimberley, daughter Jennifer Wainwright and husband Bryan, grandchildren Sydney and Austin Wainwright, Chelsie James, Josh and Jessica Chambers,  brother Loman James and wife Debbie, brother-in-law Michael DePollo, brother-in-law Mark DePollo and wife Claudia, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents Arthur (Jess) and Eleanor James, brother Mark James and sister-in-law Debbie DePollo.

His wishes were honored and he was cremated. Burial will be at a later date due to the Coronavirus at Fla. National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County, Brandley House, 17395 SE 109th Terrace RD., Summerfield, Fla. 34491
