Benjamin Dice Kisamore, 67, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Friday, June 19, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
Ben was born Sunday, June 7, 1953, in Parsons, the son of the late Dice Harper Kisamore and Lena Gertrude Sturms Kisamore. On July 3, 1971, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Parsons, he married the former Sandra Elaine Lowther, who survives. They had celebrated forty-eight years of marriage.
Left to cherish Ben’s memory are two children, Benjamin Daniel Kisamore and wife, Pamela, and Stephanie Dawn Fitzwater and husband, Jeff, all of Limestone, a sister, Sharon Daniels and husband, Eddie, a brother, David Kisamore and wife, Judy, four grandchildren, Andrew Tyler Kisamore and wife, Heather, Daniel Paul Kisamore, and wife, Maddie, Katlynn Elaine Keller and husband, Brandon, and Sarah Louise Bates, three great grandchildren Bryson Xavier Mihalko, Jace Andrew Kisamore, Kinsley Shea Kisamore, and several nieces and nephews.
Ben graduated Parsons High School with the Class of 1971. He was a farmer, had worked as a miner operator for Laurel Run Mining Company for fifteen years and retired from Hinchcliff Lumber Company after thirteen years. He had enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles, but more recently, he enjoyed going to the Preston Farmers Market, flea markets, guns shows, collecting antiques, and Tuesday morning men’s Bible study. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ben was a lifetime member of the Tucker County Fair, a member of the United Mine Workers of America, and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Parsons.
Ben’s request for cremation was honored. There was a Celebration of Life at Hostetler Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, from 5 until 7 p.m. At 7 p.m, Rev. Steven Morrow will conduct a celebratory service. Due to COVID-19, we will continue following CDC guidelines regarding social distancing and recommended facial coverings.
