I hope this finds you all well and enjoying your summer.
As you may have already heard, WVU recently released new guidelines for their students, faculty, and programs to follow. In the upcoming months we will not be allowed to do any face to face classes, meetings, or activities with more than ten people involved. With this being said, 4-H will NOT be allowed to participate in any live livestock shows or sales.
In order to complete your livestock project this year you will need to submit a poster or schedule a home visit with me. Please call or email the office to let us know which option you will be doing.
Posters:
Posters can be dropped off with other indoor exhibits to be judged on Monday, August 24th from 4pm – 6pm. Judging will take place Tuesday morning and results will be posted on our Extension Facebook page. Exhibits will be displayed throughout the county.
Home Visit:
Home visits need to be scheduled between July 27th – July 31st. Please call the office to see what days/times are available. During these visits you will share information regarding your project. Some things you can share about your project could be – what and how much you feed, species, birthdate, what you’ve learned, ect.
The Tucker County Fair Board voted to cancel the 2020 fair but, are moving forward with a Youth Livestock Show and Sale. This will allow you the opportunity to show and sell you animals, but you can NOT advertise it as your 4-H project. No 4-H clovers are permitted to be worn during the show or sale.
Enclosed you will find a schedule and the rules that will apply for this event.
If you have any questions regarding the Youth Livestock Show & Sale, please feel free to contact Ashlea or Marcy by phone or Facebook.
