Every year, the United States Constitution Week is celebrated Sept 17-23. It doesn’t matter what day of the week Sept 17 falls, the day the Constitution was signed, that day becomes the first day of Constitution Week. September is the official month that the Constitution is celebrated.

Here in Tucker County, the Blackwater Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have asked three of our towns and cities to proclaim Constitution Week and recognize the importance of this document.

Signing the proclamation is Davis Mayor, Doug Martin. The proclamation was presented to him by DAR member Daryla Rapp.

Thomas Mayor, Matt Quattro, also presented with the Proclamation by Rapp, shows off the signed Proclamation.

In Parsons, Mayor Dorothy Judy signed the Constitution Proclamation while DAR members Cathy Hebb and Cindy Kolsun assist. Mayor Judy said, “it is a pleasure to recognize how the constitution guides our government. It is a wonderful document“
