This is a photo of Parsons (Job) taken in 1889. The railroad tracks approaching the small town are visible from the bottom left side of the photo. The railroad was the West Virginia Central and Pittsburg Railroad. The railroad bridge is visible in the center of the picture. The tracks ran along the town and then turned to go towards Elkins (Leadsville). The town sprang up and boomed because of the railroad.
