CAMP KIDD – The Tucker County Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country teams hosted teams in the Tucker County Invitational on Tuesday October 6th at Camp Kidd below Parsons.
In the first race of the evening the Girls’ took to the course first. East Fairmont’s Erykah Christopher won the race with a time of 20:06.20. The East Fairmont Girls’ took home first as a team also. The Lady Mt. Lions placed second as a team and Keyser took third place in the team standings. Tucker County Girls’ were led by Katie Hicks with an 8th place finish with a time of 23:57.89 and Hannah Hardy finished in 10th place with a time of 24:48.09. The other Lady Mt. Lions runners finished as follows: 11th-Karlee Smith(25:01.39), 14th-Alaira Hudson(26:11.53), 15th-Addie Buckley(26:18.90), 18th-Kristen Hicks(27:39.84), 19th-Brianna Gooden(27:45.62) and 27th-Olivia Myers(33:25.03).
The Boys’ race was a close finish at the line as Lewis County’s Jacob Moore(17:34.17) edged out Drew Moore(17:34.53) from East Fairmont. The Bees of East Fairmont took the team win. Lewis County placed second and Tucker County finished third as a team. The Mt. Lions were led by Haden Wamsley as he placed 21st with a time of 21:12.07. The remaining Tucker County Boys’ finished as follows: 22nd-Taylor Long(21:36.92), 26th-Clay Poling(22:39.57), 29th-Ethan McCrum(23.10.64) and 31st-Trent Eure(23:35.67).
CAMP KIDD – The Cross Country PVC Championship was held at Camp Kidd in Parsons on October 13th.
The Girls’ teams started the event as 6 schools were represented in the first race. The Hampshire Girls’ won the event as a team, while the Lady Mt. Lions finished 3rd in the meet. Belle Harvey from Berkeley Springs took first place. Katie Hicks was the top runner for Tucker County with a 9th place finish and a time of 22:49.76. Erin Chambers(23:37.66) and Hannah Hardy(23:40.88) finished in the top 20 as Chambers placed 15th and Hardy came across the line in 16th place. The other Lady Mt. Lions runners finished as follows: 22nd-Karlee Smith(24:51.44), 26th-Alaira Hudson(26:01.94), 28th-Addie Buckley(26:57.26), 29th-Brianna Gooden(27:11.00), 36th-Ktisten Hicks(29:25.53), 40th-Olivia Myers(33:02.44).
The Boys’ race was won by Chris Luscus from Hampshire. Frankfort took home 1st place as a team and Tucker County was 4th as a team in the event. Clay Poling was the top finisher for Tucker County with a 29th place finish and a time of 21:24.44. The other Tucker County runners placed as follows: 30th-Taylor Long(21:27.64), 34th-Haden Wamsley(22:04.77), 35th-Ethan McCrum(22.27.03), 36th-Wesley Strawderman(22:41.33) and 37th-Trent Eure(22:46.72).
Both Cross Country teams will return to action on Thursday October 22nd for the Regional Championship Meet at Doddridge County. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
