TCHS VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO SOUTH HARRISON AND PETERSBURG

LOST CREEK – The Lady Mt. Lions High School Volleyball team traveled to South Harrison for a JV / Varsity match on Wednesday October 21st.

 

In the JV match the Lady Hawks took the match in straight sets 25-19 and 25-11.  The Varsity teams took to the floor next.  The first set was competitive throughout as South Harrison picked up the hard fought set 26-24.  The homestanding Lady Hawks would win the second set also by a score of 25-15.  The Lady Mt. Lions could not force a fourth set as South Harrison won the third set 25-19 to give them the match win over Tucker County 3-0.

 

HAMBLETON – The Tucker County Volleyball team hosted Petersburg for a JV / Varsity match with the Lady Vikings on Thursday October 22nd.

 

In the JV match Petersburg won the first set 25-19.  The Tucker County JV could not force a third set as they fell in the second set 25-10 to drop the JV match to Petersburg 2-0.

The Varsity teams then played in the last match of the night in a best of 5 set match.  Petersburg got off to a quick 7-1 lead and never trailed as they took the first set 25-6.  The second set was showed Tucker County leading early at 2-1.  The Lady Vikings then surged ahead 4-2.  Petersburg then extended their lead as the score went to 20-12.  Tucker County could not complete the comeback as the Lady Vikings won the second set by the final score of 25-19.  The Lady Mt. Lions started the third set with the lead as they held an 4-2 lead early.  Then both teams battled back and forth as the score was then tied 5 times at 5-5, 6-6, 8-8, 12-12 and 14-14.  Petersburg then took control as they outscored the Lady Mt. Lions 10-2 the rest of the set to win the set 25-16.  This set win gave the Lady Vikings the match win 3-0.

 

Tucker County will finish the regular season this week with home matches tonight October 28th against East Hardy and Thursday October 29th against Tygarts Valley.  Both matches will start at 6pm.   The Lady Mt. Lions will start Sectional play Monday November 2nd.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
