Francis Joseph Smith, age 67, went to his heavenly home on January 26th, 2021. He was born in Elkins, WV on February 22, 1953.

He was the youngest son of the late Donald Graydon Smith and the late Lucy Sagace Smith.

Joe left behind siblings Donald G. Smith, Jr. and his wife Dottie; Robert R. Smith and his wife Jeanette; Loretta S. Goff and her husband Dave; and Elizabeth C. Smith along with many nieces and nephews.

Joe graduated from Mountaineer High School in the Class of 1970 and attended West Virginia University. In middle school, Joe won the WV Golden Horseshoe award.

He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to walk and hike. He was an avid reader, loved attending church services and had quite the collection of vinyl records. He was a fan of music from the 60’s and 70’s.

In his spare time, Joe like to watch game shows and gospel videos. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

A private service for the family will be held at Hinkle-Fenner funeral home. Live stream video of the service will be available at 1 pm. Due to covid restrictions, face masks and social distancing are required. If you or a family member are feeling ill, we ask that you stay home and visit with the family at a later time.
