Dale Loren Showalters, 74, of Mt. Vernin, Ohio left this life April 2, 2014 after a brief illness.
He was born September 23, 1939 in Tucker County to Edmon C. and Stella Lena (Snyder) Showalters. He is survived by sons Christopher, Brett and Dereck Showalters of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; Grandchildren: Ben, Kaylee, Chase and Allen; Mother: Stella Lena Pennington; Step-brothers: John and JoAnn Pennington, Elkins, , Dave and Nancy Pennington, Frederickstown, Ohio, Jim and Sharon Pennington, Adrian, Mich.; Step-sisters: Judy and Gary Roy, Elkins, Wilma Hively, Huttonsville and many nieces and nephews.
On April 24, 1965, Dale married Bonita “Bonnie” Hines who preceded him in death in 2013. Also preceding him in death was one step-brother, Frank, and step-sister Lucy Nestor.
Dale graduated Parsons High School with class of 1957 and he served 27 years in the military.
