Donald Gay “Don” Nestor, Sr.. age 74 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Friday, August 2, 2013 at his home, with his family by his side. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to cancer.
He was born Wednesday, August 3, 1938 at St. George, WV, a son of the late Carl Everett and Onda Pearl Loughry Nestor. He was twice married. First to Mary Jane Holley, who survives. On August 6, 1971 at Oakland, Md., he was married to Rebecca Marlayne Kalar, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Donald Gay Nestor, Jr. and wife Mary of Norvell, MI; five daughters, Lorena Gay Smith and husband Jeff of Zephyrhills, FL, LoraLee Marie Rosamond and husband Gary of St. Cloud, FL, Angela Renee Simmons and husband Steve of Parsons, Valerie Leigh Angell and husband Greg of Pittsburgh, Allison Nicole French and husband Nico of Salisbury, NC; two brothers, David Nestor and wife Nancy of Lost Creek, Dale Nestor and wife Marty of Parsons; two sisters, Nellie Holler of Joppa, MD, Sharon White of Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death is one infant brother, Clarence Allen Nestor.
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1956. He was a former employee of General Telephone Co of Michigan, a former foreman for the Kingsford Charcoal Co and a retired truck driver for the J.B. Hunt Trucking Co. Don was well known as a prominent home and building contractor. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Michigan. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time at the Holly Meadows Golf Course, where in July of 2010, Don achieved a hole-in-one on the seventh green.
Mr. Nestor’s wishes for cremation were honored. A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date. The family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to; Tucker Co.
