PRO/ONTRAC has received approval from the Parsons Park Board to start having free music concerts in Mill Race Park this summer. We want musicians of all types to perform from 6 to 8 p.m. on Fridays and the availability of musicians will determine whether this is a weekly or bi-monthly event. Performances can be broken up into two separate sets if necessary.
If you sing and/or play an instrument, or know of someone who sings and/or plays an instrument, encourage them to please call one of the numbers below. This music series will be an all-ages, family friendly event during the months of June, July and August.
Artists and craft persons are welcome to set up displays and live demonstrations will be especially appreciated. Groups wanting to sell food are welcome as well. So, if your church or organization would like to have a bake sale, hotdog sale, bar-b-que or chicken burn please call so we can get you set up with a date!
The City of Parsons will have a grand opening, once the first date is set, with free food and drinks in addition to the music. Please plan on coming Friday evenings to Mill Race Park with your whole family and bring chairs or blankets and a picnic supper, or buy supper from a local vendor at the park, for free entertainment in our beautiful mountain valley setting. Depending on the response by musicians and the public, the City is also planning on occasional movie nights in the park as well!
This series is being brought to you by the City of Parsons and the Parsons Revitalization Organization (PRO) and ONTRAC.
