The Tucker County Board of Health along with Health Department employees hosted a dinner to celebrate and honor Sylvia Rosenau’s 47 and a half years of service to the Tucker County Board of Health. Rosenau chose to step down from the board after many years of dedicated service.
For the past 17 years, she served as the Board’s Chair. Tucker County Board of Health Administrator James Snyder said, “During my time with the Health Department, Sylvia has been a dedicated and faithful board member and chair. I do not think she has ever missed a meeting in all those years. Always happy she was able to help, Sylvia was grateful for the opportunity to serve the residents of our county.”
Board Member Donna Patrick added, “What an inspiration and wonderful example of commitment and dedication Sylvia Rosenau is. She truly exemplifies the definition of volunteerism. Her service to the Tucker County Board of Health is nothing short of amazing. We are going to miss her wise, yet gentle, leadership.”
County Commissioner and Board Member, Lowell Moore spoke of his years of serving with Sylvia, “Serving with Sylvia on the Health Department Board was always enjoyable. Sylvia always had a smile, she was dependable and very dedicated. I commend her highly for her many years of service to the citizens of Tucker County. Sylvia will definitely be missed.”
During the dinner, Rosenau was presented with flowers and a plaque in appreciation of her service. Snyder added that, “The Board, the Health Department and all the residents of Tucker County are grateful and appreciative of Sylvia’s dedication, commitment and service. Sylvia certainly will be missed on this board. It has been a blessing and privilege to work with her.”
