I bought an everyday driver this past spring and I am slowly fixing it up so I don’t put so many miles on my pickup. I have never done anything like this before but I am finding it is kind of fun. I am going on a scavenger hunt this weekend looking for parts. It is a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it is turning into an adventure.
I have a lead on one and I hope when I get there it looks as good as the picture. If not it will be a nice Saturday afternoon drive. I would like to be able to take the dogs out and not worry if they get wet or dirty. Not true I will be worried about the dirt. But I will have everything covered.
I think this is something mom and I would have enjoyed doing. She was so hands on when it came to stuff like this. And really if I mess up it isn’t going to hurt anything. Momma Said, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” But that doesn’t mean I can’t try to beat some dents out, just a little tweeking and if worse comes to worse, get a bigger hammer.
This is a project to get me out of the house. I charged the air conditioner the other day and got it working, I have put on a newer hood and I am now looking for some fenders and maybe a front seat. The one in it is ok but some of the padding is worn out. So wish me well on my excursion it should be fun. I will keep you updated and maybe even show a pic of the final result.
