Tucker County’s total case numbers are 560 confirmed positive cases since the beginning of this pandemic, 3 active cases, 548 that have recovered and 9 deaths.
Many areas of the country are seeing increases in active cases. It has been reported that, over 80% of the new cases in United States are the “Delta Variant”. This variant appears to be much more contagious than other variants.
Our county has a high vaccination rate, but as a nation the US is less than 50% vaccinated. Tucker County has had very low active case numbers for some time now. Vaccinations have gotten us to where we are, and they are the key to keeping active case numbers low and to reduce illness and death. If you have not gotten vaccinated, PLEASE CONSIDER IT. Current data suggests that the COVID-19 vaccines authorized for use in the United States offer protection against variants like the Delta.
WE NEED TO DO ALL WE CAN. IF YOU HAVE NOT GOTTEN VACCINATED, PLEASE CONSIDER IT.
If you want to get vaccinated, you can contact the Tucker County Health Department, St. George Medical Clinic, Preston Taylor Mountain Top Clinic or one of our pharmacies.
COVID-19 testing is offered at St. George Medical Clinic, St. George School Based Clinic and Mountain Top Clinic. (Please call for details)
