Monday, August 2nd was a special day for the Tucker County Senior Citizens. They held their annual picnic at Hendricks Park. The activities began with the Tucker County Veterans raising the flag and doing the pledge to the flag. After a blessing on the day’s activities, Eric Smith from Humana Insurance gave a brief talk. Next was the entertainment. Mrs. Vickie DeSantis from Hampshire County blessed us with several gospel selections. The delicious food was then presented. The Center provided the meat, macaroni salad, drinks, and watermelon. Everyone brought delicious side dishes and desserts. As the people were finishing their meal, the door prizes were awarded. The activities concluded with a visit from the local ice cream truck. The ice cream tasted very good after the beautiful warm weather. Everyone had a real good time. There were 50 people not including the staff that was on hand to help.
Later in the week we were blessed to have our choir return after 17 months of absence. It was wonderful to hear the beautiful sounds of music filling the air.
