I thought we live in a democracy not a dictatorship. I cannot believe I heard on the news today that our government is discharging military members who refuse to take the COVID shot. It is totally unheard of to treat these folks like this. We do not a Draft System in our country it is totally voluntary. The fact that the people in our military have VOLUNTEERED to put their lives on the line in the defense of our country, and now they can’t voluntarily take control of their own bodies is unspeakable.
They have to go against their own belief to keep their place in the defense of our country, that they can choose to put their lives above others but they can’t choose for themselves is unheard of. I think our government officials are getting too full of themselves. They are risking shortages in our first line of defense just because of a shot? When is it going to be mandatory for the general public to have to get this vaccine? Civilians can choose to or not to get this vaccine, so why can’t our first line of defense? Momma Said, “This is definitely going to be the SHOT heard around the world!!!”
When are people going to stand up and let the government officials know they are not GOD? What happened to the “Don’t ask, Don’t tell” policy? We need these brave soldiers who have CHOSEN to put their lives on the front line to protect and serve this country. Are we seriously going to be the first country to go down in history to have a shortage of military personnel? Momma Said, “I am speechless, what else is there to say except, get down on your knees and pray for our country.”
Banana and Carrot Dog Treats
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, (I used buckwheat flour)
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 bunch fresh carrots, finely chopped or grated
- 2-3 fresh bananas, peeled and mashed
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (*optional, I went without)
- 1/2 cup cold water
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and use parchment paper on cookie sheets.
Combine dry ingredients (flour, cornmeal & *brown sugar) in large mixing bowl, then incorporate carrots, bananas, egg, oil, and water until well blended into workable dough.
Note: With both the carrots and bananas, I chopped them into large pieces, then slowly pulsed them in our food processor. This not only saved me time, but created semi-regular sized carrot chunks and smooth banana mash to blend right into the rest of the base ingredients. I left the pulsed carrot pieces fairly chunky instead of pureeing them, because I like the idea of being able to see the actual carrot pieces throughout each treat.
Flour your workspace and roll out dough to desired thickness. We went with about 1/2 inch thickness to allow for some expansion once baked. Cut cookies to desired shape and size
Place dog cookies on baking sheet and bake 35 minutes…
After baking, turn oven off and leave cookies inside for another 30-45 minutes until crisp. This step is important to make sure your treats harden up, otherwise they will remain like soft cookies.
Once crisp, remove dog cookies from oven and let cool. Transfer to zipper bags or airtight containers and freeze to preserve freshness for your little one!
P.S.
Amber and Gracie really love them and I am sending some to brother mine to see if Remi and Willow like them.
P.P.S
When doggie grandpa brother baby sits for Libby and Lacey I hope they like them as well.
