He leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-two years, Patricia “Patty” Phillips Roy; his beloved daughter, Debra Lynn Roy Davis and husband Randall; the apple of his eye, grandson, Jacob Scott Davis, who could never do anything wrong in his eyes.  Also surviving are one brother Michael Roy and wife Carolyn of Auburn, IN; one sister, Kathy Leach and husband Ernie of Auburn, IN; brother-in-law, Charles Martin and wife Sharon of Parsons; sister-in-law, Cathy Thompson of Forsyth, GA; and sister-in-law, Debbie Martin of San Antonio, TX.; and many special nieces and nephews and special dog, Brandy.

Preceding him in death are one brother-in-law, Cliff Martin.

He was a graduate of Parsons High School.  Butch loved to hunt, fish, watching westerns and horses, but he especially loved spending time with his family.  He was a Christian and attended St. Johns United Methodist Church in Parsons.  He had previously worked at Kingsford Charcoal Co., Dorman Mills, Parsons Footwear, Mountain Trail Rides and the City of Parsons, where he took great pride in mowing and maintaining the cemetery.  He loved his family dearly and will be missed beyond words.

Mr. Roy’s request for cremation will be honored.  A Graveside service will be conducted at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 11 a.m.  The Reverend Neil Parsons will officiate and inurnment will follow.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Donald Lee “Butch” Roy, Jr.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
